A beautifully intricate French Victorian ring crafted in 18K yellow gold and platinum topped, bearing a French hallmark and designed in an elongated navette form with delicate openwork throughout. The composition centers on a bright white zircon, framed above and below by richly colored garnet-and-glass doublets, with petite rose-cut diamonds accenting the pointed ends and shoulders.

The contrast between the warm yellow-gold framework and platinum detailing gives the ring wonderful depth, while the vivid blue doublets create a dramatic focal point. The open gallery and finely pierced construction are especially beautiful from the side and underside, showcasing the level of craftsmanship found in late 19th-century French jewelry.

Why We Love It

This ring has exceptional antique character. The French provenance, 18K and platinum topped construction, elongated navette silhouette, rose-cut diamonds, and period doublets all give it a distinctive presence that feels unmistakably Victorian.

We especially love the balance of color and texture: the saturated doublets frame the luminous center zircon, while the rose-cut diamonds add soft, antique sparkle. The French hallmark is an especially nice detail, giving the piece an added layer of history and authenticity.

The zircon and rose-cut diamond accents remain set within the mounting. The French hallmark remains present. As with all antique jewelry, signs of age and wear are part of the piece’s history and character.
